A local’s guide to Hackney

Hackney oozes cool and charm by the bucketload. It is a East London hotspot to live. It’s full of edgy shops, markets, art and culture spots, pubs and local eateries. Transport connectively is great. Hackney’s vibrancy is what makes it one of London’s most sought after places to live.

The location

In recent years, Hackney has changed from one of London’s least-loved boroughs to one of its most. Regeneration has seen the emergence of a new cultural quarter in Hackney. There's a cluster of village neighbourhoods – Chatsworth Road, Victoria Park Village, Broadway Market and the area around London Fields all have friendly local high streets with independent shops and strong community ties. The arrival of the 2012 Olympics, bequeathed the borough with excellent transport links, upgraded housing, and new schools.

Hackney Transport Links

Exceptional local facilities with equally excellent transport links make SO Resi Hackney Corner the perfect location for living and commuting. Haggerston mainline station, just a short walk away, has fast links to London Victoria, King’s Cross St Pancras and Canary Wharf. For tube rides, Old Street, Angel and Shoreditch are all a quick walk or cycle ride away too. All of the cool places to visit in central London are easily accessible via Hackneys extensive bus links with the 38 bus going directly to Victoria bus/ couch station and stopping over at Piccadily Circus, the Trocadero and Hyde Park.

Education

Hackney has a good selection of schools including The City Academy that offers excellent and innovative ways to teach and support children from the starting age of 11 to 19 and has been given an Ofsted rating of “Outstanding”. The Garden also offers a high quality, creative and bespoke education for children with autism from the ages of 4 to 15 and also has an “outstanding” Ofsted report.
