Spotlight on Hayes

Published: 22 June 2018

Considering a move to West London? Hayes might be just right for you.

Sitting in the London Borough of Hillingdon, Hayes is a charming West London suburb close to the Grand Union Canal. It boasts a rich cultural history and excellent transport links – and with Crossrail arriving in 2019, it’s fast becoming a commuter hotspot.

Crossrail has kickstarted a large-scale regeneration of Hayes, which will bring an exciting array of shops, restaurants, cinemas and music venues to the area. Highlights include The Old Vinyl Factory, which, under the ownership of EMI, spent a couple of decades producing vinyl for The Beatles, Cliff Richard and Pink Floyd (to name a few).

Hayes has also been home to author, George Orwell, housed companies Heinz and Nestle and still has a starring role in the arts, thanks to the West London Film Studios.
