A local’s guide to Solihull

Solihull is a bustling borough located in the heart of England. It is considered the gateway to the rest of the Midlands. Alongside the beautiful, peaceful town of Shirley, The Metropolitan Borough of Solihull also has other towns and districts sitting within it such as Dorridge, Knowle, and Castle Bromwich to name a few. It’s a town with an abundance of well-known shops, a diverse mix of delicious cuisines served with a delightful, à la mode dining experience, intriguing coffee shops, and a picturesque park for morning strolls make Solihull the perfect place to live.

The location

Solihull is a well-known town with a rich history. Its Tudor-style buildings, yet modern range of shops, bars, and restaurants are sure to appeal to all tastes. For everyday needs its wide selection of Supermarkets, including Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Aldi, Iceland, and a Tesco Extra Superstore mean you will never be without choice.

There are train services to Birmingham Moor Street, Birmingham Snow Hill, and to Stourbridge Junction in one direction. In the other direction is Henley-in-Arden and Stratford-upon-Avon from Shirley railway station. There are also several bus routes operated by National Express West Midlands, which all stop on Stratford Road.

Education

Solihull has excellent educational facilities including Solihull School. This school has excellent ratings and aims to cultivate a thirst for learning and helps to prepare pupils for a happy and confident adult life. Another fantastic school, Tudor Grange Academy aims to prepare young people for an internationally competitive world.
