Before you can buy a Shared Ownership property, you must first create a profile and complete an application form. This allows us to confirm your eligibility for Shared Ownership, as well as registering your details with us.

What will you need?

You need to provide some basic personal information, as well details of your income and any of these that are relevant:

  • Your employer’s address
  • Details of equity held and outstanding mortgage on your current property 
  • Details of your income, savings and any loans you may have
  • Other joint applicants' details

Your application information is transferred via secure connection for your peace of mind. 


You can apply to buy a Shared Ownership property if:

  • You do not own (or part-own) a property at the time of completing on your purchase
  • Your combined annual household income (before tax) is under £80,000 - or £90,000 in London
  • You fulfil our affordability criteria, ensuring that you can afford to live in your shared ownership home
  • Key workers and some other groups have priority
  • For some SO Resi homes you must live or work in the borough already

What happens next?

Once we've reviewed your application form, we will be able to confirm that you are eligible for Shared Ownership. This typically takes around 7 working days. If there are any problems with your application, we'll be in touch.
